Nominal duration: 200 hours
Course length: 20 weeks full-time, or 40 weeks part-time

This qualification is designed to meet the needs of builders and managers of small to medium-sized building businesses.

CERTIFICATE IV FULFILS TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSING
In Queensland, an individual or company needs a licence to carry out, agree to carry out or supervise any building work over $3,300 (labour and materials). This course should fulfil the technical requirements for the different licence classes. Refer to the website of the licensing authority in your State/Territory for other requirements for licensing (e.g. for a Contractor licence, you may also need to meet managerial, experience and financial requirements)

RPL AVAILABLE
If you have experience in the building industry or have completed some building subjects, you may be able to reduce the length of the course. We can assess you for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

WHAT YOU LEARN
The course provides the skills and knowledge needed to plan and coordinate the construction of low-rise residential and commercial buildings. It covers scheduling, estimating, contractor selection, quality assurance, construction methods, building law, building management, surveying, contract administration, and building practice.

WORK WHILE YOU STUDY
We have arranged the hours so that you can study while working full-time during the day. If you do the online components during the other week nights, you even get your whole weekend off for family, friends and sport!

JOBS
Job titles may include Licensed Builder or Construction Manager.
